Sounds Of Blackness Optimistic (Perspective Records) 1991
An absolute massive tune from a massive group. This record had it all, modern beats, big bassline, good instrumentation and a superb gospel vocal. Killer on the soundsytems, radio and anywhere that had speakers!

Funny one this..I always thought this was pretty non-descript at the time but after having a little listen I have realised that it is quite tasty.. The 7" radio mix seems to have the toughest beats as well which is another surprise. Of course The Sounds Of Blackness are most famous for their classic 'banger' 'Optimistic' and also the laidback 'Black Butterfly' but this tune is definitely worth a listen...not surprising given the immense vocal talent of this group..
