Kem Heaven (Album II) (Motown) 2005
This guy is amazing. Real soul music on the Motown label. I cannot believe I've been sleeping on these albums! This is only one track from them, I could have picked another ten. Thanks for Dean Jay for putting me on to these. If anyone likes soulful house music, you need to check his podcast out - it's exceptional. CLICK HERE

Lafayette Afro Rock Band Darkest Light
This will always remind me of Public Enemy's 'Show Em Watcha Got' which used this CLASSIC sax riff on the political cut up instrumental track from album 'It Takes A Nation Of Millions' Darkest Light has also been used by Jay Z and a classic rave track from the early 90's..

Donald Byrd and 125th Street NYC Feel Like Loving You Today (Love Byrd) (Elektra) 1981
Amazing stuff from Donald Byrd. Such a sweet tune. Sampled a few times, by Group Home back in 1995 (2 Thousand) and Erykah Badu in 1997's Sometimes... You can hear trademark Isaac Hayes production in this as well. Top notch.
