Oran Juice Jones The Rain (Def Jam) 1986
Loved this from 1996. On the label Def Jam, more famous for a lot of the early rap greats such as Beastie Boys, Public Enemy and LL Cool J. Loved this tune, parts of this have been borrowed since it's release, most noticably for me was on Yvette Michele's 'I'm Not Feeling You' back in 1997. 'I gave you names you couldn't even pronounce' Briliant stuff!

Sweetback Album Sampler You Will Rise/Gaze (Sony) 1996
This was the promo EP that came before the album. Can't believe it was so long ago..This was a band made up from members of Sade's Band. The music on this was beautiful and featured Amel Larrieux on some tracks! Well worth picking this album up on cd. More info here

Nine Whutcha Want? (Profile) 1994
The BOMB from Nine!! Tight rhymes over a replayed sample from Otis Redding's 'Dock Of The Bay' This was an exceptional record fom Bronx emcee Nine. His unmistakable raspy tone just sits nicely on this one! CLASSIC.
